Chris Turner retains the role of Director of Operations in the Office of Economic Partnerships. In this role, he oversees financial administration, facilities, human resources, procurement and purchasing, and logistics for the office. In addition, Chris developed and is responsible for the University policy around Making Research Work that provides structure around external partner fee for service/product work, lab use, and facility use. Making Research Work is another avenue for external partners to engage with the University of Pittsburgh.
Chris previously worked in various finance and accounting managerial roles in the for-profit education sector. In these roles, there was always a focus on efficiency, student debt management, and providing in-depth financial analysis on various business challenges. Prior to employment in the for-profit education sector, Chris worked at United Parcel Service, Inc in both Pittsburgh, PA and Nashville, TN. He held management roles in both finance and operations. His UPS career started with an internship, while an undergraduate student at the University of Pittsburgh. Chris holds a Master of Business Administration from Argosy University and an undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
